In his book "Forty Questions," the wise Lazarev answers readers' questions about self, destiny, and health, explaining the commandments and beginning with the first commandment: loving the one God, acknowledging Him, worshipping Him alone, and accepting His will to change our behavior and curb our instincts… Then, in the second commandment, he urges us not to worship idols or become attached to people or things, emphasizing giving, sacrifice, asceticism, caring for loved ones, showing mercy to people, forgiveness, as well as fasting and avoiding greed.
