Opal
A herd of horses was galloping in beautiful unison, to a single rhythm. The sound of their hooves striking the ground harmonized with their pounding hearts. Their legs aligned elegantly as they raced, their speed unified as if they were one being. The rain gradually subsided until it became a delicate drizzle, like tears. A rainbow emerged, adorning the sky and meeting the horizon in the distance. One of the horses neighed, and its companions' whinnies rose with clear, shrill sounds. Then it took the lead, and they pursued it, snorting, until they finally reached a vast, lush green orchard. If I were a horse, I would have shied away from them, and if I were human, I would have shied away from them too. For the sounds that rose as their chest-pounding subsided were never the sounds of horses; they were the sounds of humans!
